Redeemer Lions Volleyball
lion Varsity Team Begins Season Play
This year we are excited about our 2008 varsity volleyball team and season! Our varsity squad consists of several returning players from last season that will help provide leadership both on and off the court. These players include: Allee Stelogeannis, Laura Klein, Christy Yakulevich, Alex Wilhelm, Bekah Ergle, Elle Klein, Carolyn Cooley, and Martha Lyn Andrews.

To play alongside our returning players we have a group of seventh graders that are showing a lot of great things on the court. These players include: Kathryn Andrews, Brianna McKathan, Kaitlyn Bryant, and Hayley Ewers.

Head coach Brad Ewers has a team that consists of speed, along with a group of ladies that share a common bond with one another. Not only do they strive to work together on the court, but they desire to bring glory to Christ in all they do (1 Corinthians 10:31)! So come out and support our Redeemer Lady Lions this season as they participate in the always competitive Kingdom of the Son Conference.

Redeemer Lions JV Volleyball
Alongside our Redeemer Lions Varsity Volleyball team, we will also be having our Junior Varsity Vollyball team. This years team consists of a mixture of fifth and sixth grade girls. Our sixth graders bring great leadership to the court consisting of: Lora Brincefield, Carsyn Martin, Isabella Veri, Rossi Klein, Ashlyne Riley, Carolina Sepulveda, Monica Manresa and Brooke Reed. We have two fifth graders that complete the team consisting of Taylor Shakra and Casey Green. This team is beginning to learn the basics of what it means to be a great team and player on the court, but they are also learning what it means to a person of character off the court. This is a team that we can get excited about!

A lot of times our JV Volleyball team will play directly before our Varsity team. Be sure to come and check out both teams this season!
Lady Lions Win First Game of Season
On September 5, the lady lions varsity volleyball team won their first game of the season by beating Blessed Trinity in three games. Match play was exciting all the way through as Redeemer pulled it away for good in the third game. Redeemer was led by an offensive attack that continues to get better as the season progresses. It is evident to see that the ladies are growing in trust and becoming more confident in their offense.

In JV action, the lady lions lost in two sets and now stand at a 2-2 record. This Thursday, September 11, both teams are in action as they travel to Queen of Peace with a start time of 4:30 (for the JV game) and 5:30 (for the varsity game). On Friday, September 12, both teams travel to Ocala Christian Academy with the first game starting at 4:00 and the second game starting at 5:00. Please come out and support our volleyball teams!
Lady Lions Now Stand at 3-7
The lady lions fell in three games on Tuesday, September 23, to Cornerstone of Ocala. Their record now stands at 3 wins and 7 losses. The lady lions are right on the verge of being a team to be reckoned with as nearly each game they have lost has come in three games. It is just a matter of finishing teams off when they get the chances. It is becoming more evident that the team is working together and continues to stay strong as a team. The lady lions look to get back in action this Monday, September 29, where they will be traveling to Shores Christian with game time starting at 4:30.

The JV lady lions volleyball team also fell in three sets to Cornerstone of Ocala this past Tuesday (September 23). Thier record now stands at 3 wins and 6 losses. The JV volleyball team won't be in action again until October 9 when Queen of Peace travles to RCS for a double-header with game time beginning at 4:30.
