Hello parents! We are still making great progress in K5 - you may have noticed that the children are able to read three to four letters words at this point. They should also be able to share with you if a word has only one vowel in it the sound that the vowel makes and if the word has two or more vowels in it the sounds that they make. We worked on words with three vowels in them this week, so the children should have a pretty good grasp on that. Please continue to work with your child at home. I have sent home the first completed reader. We are working on our second reader in reading groups. I currently have three reading groups, but as the children are learning and expanding their knowledge I will be looking at the groups and adjusting to meet individual needs.
This week I sent "homework" home with your child. The sheets that you have been receiving are sight words that we are working on. The front we do whole group. I am stamping the back with a "homework" stamp. If you would please complete the worksheet at home and return it the next day.
On Friday we will be having a "Sense-sational Senses Fair" and you all are invited! I will be sending out invitations with the children on Monday. I hope that you can make this celebration of our five senses! We have been studying our senses and how they help us...God made us so wonderfully!
Don't forget that Wednesday is an early release day!
Have a great week! In Christ, Bobbi
