Philosophy: “The purpose of Redeemer Christian School is to provide a God-centered education that equips children to transform our culture for Christ. This will be achieved through an excellent academic program, qualified and dedicated staff, and a positive learning environment.”
RCS offers small class size with nurturing teachers. Our rigorous program challenges students. Our curriculum is enriched with Spanish, Computers, Physical Education, Jogging Club, Art, Music, and Media Center each week. Students have a devoted Bible study time daily, in addition to bi-weekly chapel; which provides a group worship experience. Bible is integrated into all academic subjects. God is not just “in the bible”. Our intent is to train students to seek Christ and His purpose in all areas. Each year our students are evaluated through testing utilizing the Stanford 10 and Otis-Lennon (ability) standardized test.
Our classrooms provide opportunities to teach and challenge a wide range of learners. We are all smart, just in different ways. Through training in “Kagan”, (Dr. Spencer Kagan, Cooperative Learning and Multiple Intelligences) we are able to enhance our presentation of content to allow the incorporation of all modes of learning (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic). In addition, we strive to provide experiences for the following: 1. Verbal-Linguistic: (word smart) reading, writing, listening, and discussing. 2. Logical-Mathematical: (logic/math smart) questioning, thinking, and problem solving. 3. Visual-Spatial: (art/space smart) spatial relations, visual imagery, and visual communication. 4. Body-Kinesthetic: (body smart) hands-on strategies, movement, body communication and representation. 5. Musical-Rhythmic: (music smart) music and rhythm. 6. Interpersonal: (people smart) peer tutoring, decision-making, communication, and information sharing. 7. Intrapersonal: (self smart) reflection, preference and value articulation. 8. Naturalist Strategies: (nature smart) classification, comparison and observation strategies. …Dr. Spencer Kagan, Multiple Intelligences
Our students are also enriched and challenged through field trips, community service projects, book buddies, and mentoring students on our campus. Our fifth grade students are encouraged to participate in Safety Patrol, and through Safety Patrol, attend a field trip to Washington D.C. each year.
