Middle School Curriculum
Redeemer Christian's middle school offers small class sizes with an atmosphere of high expectations, mutual respect and committed teachers. Our curriculum is a composite curriculum which meets National and State standards. The middle school academic program consists of language arts with a strong emphasis on reading, grammar, writing, and spelling/vocabulary; math; social studies; and science. All middle school students participate in PE each day. Our middle school students participate are also enrolled in a different quarter class each nine weeks such as computer, music, art, and Spanish. Each year our students are evaluated through testing utilizing the Stanford 10 and Otis-Lennon standardized tests.

In homeroom each day middle school students are nurtured spiritually through prayer time. They also attend biweekly chapel services. Middle school students are encouraged to tak part in community service. Some of our students mentor to younger children at the Skill Day Center once a month. Our 7th and 8th grade students attend a retreat to Camp Kulaqua.

Middle school students are encourage to take part in several different extracurricular activities such as a sports, Studen Council, and different contest (Science Fair, Spellng Bee, History Fair, etc). The yar is ended with a graduation for eigth grade students as they move on to a new adventure in transforming our culture for Christ.

Our classrooms provide opportunities to teach and challenge a wide range of learners. We are all smart, just in different ways. Through training in “Kagan”, (Dr. Spencer Kagan, Cooperative Learning and Multiple Intelligences) we are able to enhance our presentation of content to allow the incorporation of all modes of learning (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic). In addition, we strive to provide experiences for the following:
1. Verbal-Linguistic: (word smart) reading, writing, listening, and discussing.
2. Logical-Mathematical: (logic/math smart) questioning, thinking, and problem solving.
3. Visual-Spatial: (art/space smart) spatial relations, visual imagery, and visual communication.
4. Body-Kinesthetic: (body smart) hands-on strategies, movement, body communication and representation.
5. Musical-Rhythmic: (music smart) music and rhythm.
6. Interpersonal: (people smart) peer tutoring, decision-making, communication, and information sharing.
7. Intrapersonal: (self smart) reflection, preference and value articulation.
8. Naturalist Strategies: (nature smart) classification, comparison and observation strategies.
