September
What an amazing transformation has already taken place in our classroom. Our little “seeds” are growing into beautiful "apple trees" by accepting responsibility and moving through our one, two, three early morning routine. I begin to instruct by 8:00 A.M. daily engaging little minds with wake up your brain activities. Once the bell ringer sonds the “bell” and we sing the “clean-up” song, our day really gets moving! **We pray and pledge with the big kids out at the flag then head into K3 for a morning preschool devotion. The first week we discussed all about kindness and the second was on anger and how we can handle our feelings in a Godly way. **Practicing self control through our day is getting easier each day as we have plenty of time to "wiggle" (one favorite has been Tony Chestnut-super silly!). **Character building with the help of Amber Lamb; nursery rhymes, poetry or language development activities lead us into our academic time. **Phonics skills are being mastered with the help of “Lulu”, letter songs, games and consistent instruction on correct pencil hold, posture, paper slant and letter formation visuals assist little writers as they use their tools and time wisely. **Now we’ve worked up an appetite for snack followed by recess on the playground. **As we come in and cool off, we learn about God's love through Bible stories. The suspense has really built up each day as the children look forward to hearing what God made next! Our bible song, "In the Beinning", is peppy and exciting as they don't even realize they have memorized the first of many bible verses - Genesis 1:1! We will meet Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden next. Never a dull moment! **During September we’ll discuss fall, squirrels, leaves and apples as well as travel back in time to visit with John Chapman (better known as Johnny Appleseed). **Musical math brings delightful songs into our numbers time. Calendar corner will quickly become a class favorite as we "pick a question" and use the estimation jar. P.E., Computer Lab, Art & Music are also favorites!
Lots more to come in October – don’t forget to check us out!
Blessings,
Mrs. Amy & Mrs. Jodi |
