August/September 2008
Hello Redeemer Families,
Soon it will be time to get serious and busy regarding our annual Auction. First, for our new families, some explanation of what our auction is all about. It is the only fundraiser that our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) has each year to raise money to help fund improvements around campus and unbudgeted items. Each class needs at least two parent representatives. These class reps along with the teacher organize the class project – something handmade by the students as a whole; come up with the theme for the 8x10 or larger class picture and class basket. Each of these projects is auctioned (either silent, live or both) at the auction in February 2009. The first $500 of the proceeds from the class basket and half of anything above $500 goes to the class teacher to spend on items/needs for the classroom (i.e. Basket auctions for $1000, teacher receives $750 to spend in the classroom).
Last year’s Auction was an incredible success with $149,700 being raised the night of the Auction! Planning for this year’s Auction is about to get under way and we will be looking for RCS parents to help make this year’s Auction another great success.
Please pray and think about where you will help this year. The success of the Auction does not happen without help from each family at Redeemer. In addition to volunteering your time and talents, we need each family to actively seek donations from outside sources for the Auction. Information and donation letters will follow very soon.
We are very excited about our Auction. We have a great school and awesome families here at Redeemer. Let’s put our hearts together and make this year the best ever! To volunteer or if you have any questions, please contact Pam de Armas at auction@redeemerlions.com
