Meet the Head of School
Luke Butler
After giving his heart and life to Christ at age 21 and completing a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of Florida, Luke discovered his calling in 1994 when God led him to teach English and Bible and coach basketball and soccer at Orangewood Christian School in Maitland, a suburb of Orlando.
By the year 2000, he was Middle School Principal. He completed a Master’s in Education at Covenant College that same year. God then called him and his wife, Destiny, to Colorado Springs Christian Schools as Middle School Principal and HS Dean of Students. In 2012, God brought Luke back to Florida to serve as Head of School at Redeemer Christian.
Luke and Destiny have three children: Laramie, Timothy, and Lydia.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

A word From Luke:
The choice of how to educate your children may be one of the most important choices you will ever make. We are excited to share with you, utilizing our three core values of Excellence, Grace and Community, how Redeemer Christian School partners with parents to raise up children in the way they should go.
First, we aim for Excellence in all we do. As an educational institution, we strive to offer a rigorous, biblically-integrated program of instruction that prepares students to love God, enjoy learning, and interact with the big ideas of culture and civilization. We invite students to work hard and to seek excellence in their academic, athletic and fine arts endeavors. Graduates of our high school have attended The University of Florida, The University of Notre Dame, Liberty University, Covenant College and have been accepted into over 60 other institutions of higher learning. Several are currently serving in the armed forces, law enforcement and other public service callings. It is our desire that every student experience excellence in our program and would seek to exhibit excellence in all they do.
Next, our desire is to demonstrate, model and invite students to experience God’s Grace through content and in relationship. Every member of the faculty and staff are Christ-followers and are encouraged to establish grace-filled relationships with students and families. Teachers strive to create safe spaces within their classrooms in which students can risk, fail, succeed and learn to encourage their peers and be encouraged in the process. Because Jesus died for us while we were sinners, we want our students to see that type of grace in our approach to them. In doing this, our desire is to draw them into relationship with God and find salvation through Jesus Christ.
Finally, students and their families become part of our Community as they walk together in this educational process. We desire for every student to feel loved, valued and nurtured in their maturing process. Similarly, we seek to provide opportunities for families to experience community through school-wide events like Fall Festival, music and art performances and Coffee and Connection parent meet-ups. Many of our students identify relationships with their teachers as highlights of their Redeemer experience while numerous alumni come back to visit or even seek employment with us. We attempt to create a strong, Christ-centered community so that students can belong and be encouraged in the growth process.
We hope that if you are already a member of Redeemer, you have experienced Excellence, Grace and Community in all aspects of our program. If you are seeking this for your children, we invite you to schedule a tour and find out more about Redeemer. Whatever the case, may God richly bless you as you raise your children in the way they should go.

Leading the vision
Redeemer Christian School is a ministry of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, PCA and is blessed to have dedicated and talented leaders to serve as a School Committee. The School Committee (aka School Board) has been commissioned by the elders of GSPC to direct and protect the ministry of Redeemer Christian School. The board serves as a commission of the session (elder board) of the church with the responsibility of broad oversight in areas of school mission, strategic planning, funding and policy. Consisting of 7-11 members, the board hires, evaluates, and supports the headmaster, who in turn is responsible for the daily operations of the school.
In addition to regular meetings, the board trains annually to ensure each member understands their corporate responsibilities and accepts them individually.
