Volunteer Opportunities

Why Volunteer?

Teaching children the importance of giving to others, whether time, money or energy, is one of the most valuable character traits in a child of God. The Bible is filled with verses and examples of people of all ages helping others. It doesn't matter if you have a lot to give or a little, it's the heart that matters! We have opportunities both during the day and after hours as well as tasks that you may be able to do from home. No deed is too small!

When parents actively participate in their child's school their child benefits. Parent volunteers are vital to the success of our wide range of programs. There are many ways that you can become involved at Redeemer Christian School. We encourage you to contact your child’s teacher, or the front office at 352.854.2999.

Here’s just a sample of the possible opportunities for volunteering:

Classroom Volunteer: There are many opportunities to assist teachers with preparation of materials, reading with a small group of children and practicing math facts.

Library Volunteer: With the volume of books being returned daily to the library, Mrs. Lee can always use assistance in shelving books.

Field Trip Driver or Chaperone: Many of the field trips taken require additional parent supervision. This is an excellent way to spend time with your child and small group of students while taking in an educational excursion.

Fall Festival Volunteer: To make Fall Festival a success, we need a number of volunteers to run events. Watch for our school's weekly newsletter "Mane News" to view all the volunteer opportunities closer to the actual event time and date.

Maintenance/ Landscaping Volunteer: We are always looking to make improvements to our school buildings and campus. If you have skills in the areas of painting, construction or landscaping....we have opportunities for you to help beautify our campus.

Prayer Time Parents: Gather each Tuesday, at Good Shepherd Church Sanctuary and pray with other parents over our children, teachers, school and various prayer needs that are shared by our Principal- Luke Butler.

Teacher Birthday Recognition Coordinator: Assist the Office Staff with the task of recognizing Elementary, Middle School and High School Teachers on their Birthdays and coordinating birthday cards, notes of "Good Wishes" or small gifts for those teachers.
